Construction Management Guide (CMGUIDE) is a UAE-based online free service and knowledge portal focusing on developing skills and enriching the knowledge of the construction industry’s practitioners.
Founded in 2008, CMGUIDE has been online for more than three years offering free consultation services and delivering specialized articles & materials in construction project management, contract administration, construction law and construction technology to thousands of construction practitioners worldwide. CMGUIDE‘s content is also being syndicated by various organizations and websites. More than 5000 subscribers/members have joined CMGUIDE benefiting from its free regular newsletters.
CMGUIDE has achieved an excellent popularity and reputation among the professionals in the industry in a very short time. Hence, it was selected as a basic Media Partner for many construction conferences such as the annual FIDIC Middle East Users in February 2010 & 2011 and Construction lifecycle risk management held in Abu Dhabi in April 2011.
CMGUIDE was found by Samer Hisham Skaik, PMP, a Palestinian Civil Engineer holding Msc. in Construction Project Management with Distinction from the UK and he is currently working as a Project Manager for a big developer in the UAE. He is also working as a Teaching Fellow & Research Supervisor at the School of Built Environment-Heriot Watt University.
Samer Skaik has a unique mixture of practical and academic experience in the construction project management in the UAE, including project management, design management, technical coordination, contract administration, procurement, construction law and dispute resolution. His experience has been shaped within the contracting and development fields of the construction industry. Through CMGUIDE, he is aiming to provide a free knowledge pool to help educate the construction practitioners to perform better in their career.
Samer Skaik was the chairperson of the Construction life cycle risk management conference organized by Marcus Evans between 17-18 April 2011 in Abu Dhabi. He has also participated in tens of conferences, training courses and seminars pertaining construction industry.
Apart from construction, Samer Skaik is a Professional Arab Poet and Writer and has a Personal Blog publishing his writings. He has published his first poetry collection “Ajwaa’ Abetha” in 2006. He is also acting as the Founder & Chief Editor of Aklaam Magazine and its online forums.
